Who We Educate

The Institute’s Third Channel of Education targets risk reduction, dialog and research into contentious issues through R&D programs by faculty/graduate students in universities and by professional engineers, scientists, and economists aligned with, or part of, professional societies to:

  • Continue professional development for those directly within the energy industry, and for those impacted by the industry
  • Develop objective analysis and decision frameworks, and execute research programs in areas of high contention or risk
  • Provide direct training and public outreach programs; professional development for those directly within the energy industry, and for those impacted by the industry; for the general public so that existing and new technologies that, based on their scientific and engineering capabilities, may have significant positive impacts on meeting the challenge posed by Climate Change yet may be most misunderstood by the public
